No blog, no business

Blogging is my business. It should be yours, too. You can have blog without a business, but you can’t have a business without a blog. No blog, no business…

no blog no business

Why is this frustrating for you?

Wherever you turn, you see business blogs, blog posts and entrepreneurs who are visible, interactive, prolific in their content writing. They are so much more visible than you are. This can easily make you feel like you’re lagging behind, you haven’t yet jumped on the bandwagon, and you’re not quite perceived to be the expert you fully well know deep inside you that you are. This can be really frustrating, because starting a blog isn’t something you can do in the blink of an eye. And then there is the matter of keeping a blogging frequency up. It can feel like a daunting, stressful project that you don’t have time for.

What will not having a blog mean for your business in the long run?

At the same time, you realise that a business without a blog misses a hugely valuable opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with your clients, fans and readers. There is no online platform where you can connect as powerfully as on your blog page. Even more valuable is the opportunity to create content continuously. Each blog post is part of your super source – aka your mountain of value – and can be used in a myriad of ways to nurture the connections between you and your readers, and even between readers themselves, too. Why would you deny yourself all of these opportunities to boost your business, to establish your brand, and to create the community of ideal clients around your business? People won’t know you’re there, even, because you don’t present your blog to them, regularly. It’s as simple as that.

How do you go about starting your blog?

What’s the answer? Well, make sure you are out there! And make sure you do it in a way that is valuable to your clients. Serve them by serving them your blog posts. Every week. Stay in the picture. Position yourself. Start writing by answering your audience’s questions. Never doubt yourself, never doubt the value of what you have to offer. If you could help only one person… you can be sure there are others out there that you can help, too. Even if you feel you have no clue what to blog about, start with answering the questions you hear from your clients time and time again. And serve those answers to your clients, fans and readers, from your social media channels. End with a call to action, asking your audience to let you know what questions you can answer for them. It really is that simple.

I can fully imagine this article doesn’t wipe out any doubts you may have, in one fell swoop. So, let’s make a deal: you share in your comment here what’s your biggest fear, insecurity, doubt or hurdle you experience that stops you from blogging regularly and with confidence – and I will give you the first step you can take to overcome that. And remember, you can have a blog without a business, but you can’t have a business without a blog
